Colfax seniors Dannielle Dachel, Sawyer DeMoe and Ben Kragness will have the opportunity to showcase their talents this summer in different All Star games. Dachel will play for the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association D4 North basketball team June 19 at 10:45 at the JustAgame Field House in Wisconsin Dells while DeMoe will play in the WBCA boys division for the D4 North team June 20 in the same venue and the same time. Kragness, who will play college football for Southwest State in Minnesota this fall, will play in the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association game for the D4-7 team July 18 at Titan Stadium at UW-Oshkosh. Dachel and DeMoe were nominated by their respective high school coaches Joe Doucette and Garrett Maas, then were chosen by a WBCA committee. Kragness qualified for the team after being nominated by his high school coach Mark Maloney and being named to the D-SC All Conference team and the WFCA All Region team. (Fellow Vikings Jeremiah Wait and Jarrod Rudi were also named to the WFCA All Region team).
Also representing the Dunn-St. Croix Conference in the boys’ basketball game are Levi Wolf of Elmwood-Plum City and Jake Hierlmeier of Glenwood City. All of the coaches are from the D-SC including Chris Segerstrom of Elmwood-Plum City, Tristan Kittilson of Glenwood City and Chad Brieske and Wyatt Anderson from Mondovi. For the football game, Jacob Conley and Decker Grass from St. Croix Central will join Kragness.
The games are fundraisers for the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer foundation and all players and coaches are asked to raise money for it. Anyone who would like to donate for the three Colfax athletes may do so online at the WBCA or WFCA website or you may call the high school at 715-962-3155.
