Nowhere to go but up for 2015 Colfax golf team

COLFAX — After finishing last in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference a year ago, Colfax golf coach Vince Ross expects his five returning players to improve and move the team up in the standings this year.

Back are juniors Trey Gullickson, Trevor Seston and Andrew Buckley along with sophomores Bryce Fransway and Trenton Anderson. Filling out the team are junior Brett Prince who hopes to compete in some meets but is also a member of the track team, and freshman Richard Stehling. Seston was an All Conference player and advanced to the sectional meet a year ago.

Returning conference champion Glenwood City is expected to be the team to beat again as they return several players, but Spring Valley could be strong also, according to Ross.

The Vikings’ first match of the year scheduled for April 9 was postponed due to inclement weather.
