Hwy. 29 crash results in injures

ELK MOUND — Two people were injured in a March 10 crash on Highway 29 that involved three vehicles at County Highway H south of Elk Mound.

According to a news release from Wisconsin State Patrol, the accident happened at 4:35 p.m. on Tuesday,  March 10 when Thomas Duval, 64 of New Auburn, was traveling south on 906th Street and attempted to cross Highway 29.

Duval, who was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6, cleared the westbound lanes but struck a 2005 Toyota Corolla driven by Nathan J. Janson, 29 from Chippewa Falls, who was traveling eastbound on Highway 29.

After the initial collision, Duval’s vehicle then collided with a 2003 Toyota RAV 4, operated by 41 year-old Jon E. Holzwarth of Elk Mound, that was stopped at the stop sign on County Highway H.

Duval was cited for failure to yield the right away and for failure to fasten his seatbelt.

The release did not state which drivers were injured in the crash.

The Wisconsin State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Department, Colfax Ambulance and the Elk Mound Fire Department.
