Simonson ends wrestling season with loss at state
MADISON — After placing second in the sectional meet, Colfax-Bloomer wrestler Brady Simonson competed in the WIAA state meet held in Madison last weekend. Wrestling at 126 pounds in a Division 2 preliminary match Thursday night, Simonson lost via a pin in the second period to Jensen Langer of Marshall who had a record of 51-7. (Langer ended up losing to the state runner up).The loss concluded his season with a record of 41-6.
“Although I was a little disappointed at the loss, it was a great experience for me,” Simonson said. “I lost to a good wrestler and it gave me a chance to see the high level of competition there. I want to work harder and get back next year and do better,” he added.
