Longtime EM school board clerk not running in April election

By LeAnn R. Ralph

ELK MOUND — After serving on the Elk Mound Board of Education for nearly 30 years, Margaret Dieter has decided not to run for re-election April 7.

Dieter currently serves as clerk of the school board.

Candidates could start circulating nomination papers on December 1, and the deadline for submitting nomination papers was January 6 at 5 p.m.

Dieter submitted non-candidacy papers to the school district by the December 26 deadline, said Dr. Ron Walsh, school district administrator.

Two other candidates submitted nomination papers by the January 6 deadline for the two open positions on the Elk Mound Board of Education: Incumbent Gary Bodenburg and Mark Oas.

Bodenburg serves as treasurer of the school board.
