COLFAX — Four candidates have filed nomination papers for three positions on the Colfax Village Board that will be up for election April 7, along with one candidate for village president.
The four candidates filed nomination papers for three trustee positions by the January 6 deadline at 5 p.m., said Lynn Niggemann, village administrator-clerk-treasurer.
The incumbents who will appear on the April ballot are Beverly J. Schauer; Anne E. Schieber; and Susan Olson.
Colfax resident David Wolff also filed nomination papers by the deadline and will be on the April ballot for village trustee.
Schauer has served on the Colfax Village Board for about 20 years.
Olson was appointed to the village board in April of 2010 to fill a trustee position that had been vacant the previous year and expired in April of 2011.
Olson was elected as trustee in the 2013 election and is seeking her second elected term in 2015.
Schieber is finishing her first elected term on the village board and is running for a second term.
Scott Gunnufson, village president is the only candidate on the ballot for village president.
Gunnufson was appointed to the village board in September of 2012 to fill the trustee position vacated by the resignation of Tina Bradford, who had been appointed to the village board in May of that year to fill the vacancy created when Mike Laska resigned from the village board the previous year.
Gunnufson was elected as village president in 2013 and is running for a second term as village president.
Beginning in late February or early March, the Colfax Messenger will start publishing candidate profiles for the four people on the ballot for village trustee.
Candidates could start circulating nomination papers on December 1.
Non-candidacy forms were due by December 26.
