Colfax dance team competes in Menomonie Holiday Classic

MENOMONIE — The Colfax Varsity Dance Team performed at the Menomonie Holiday Classic in December. This is an open competition so Colfax Varsity Dance, a Division 5 school in Pom, competed against many Division 3 and 4 schools as well as Division 5 schools in Pom. They earned an 8th place finish in this tough line-up. Colfax Varsity Dance is a Division 2 school in Jazz and competed against both Division 1 and 2 schools in Jazz. They earned a 5th place finish in Jazz.

Last year five seniors graduated and were replaced by five first-year dancers. They started working in August and participated in classes at EnAvant dance studio in Eau Claire where they began working on skills. They also participated in a WACPC Dance conference at Wisconsin Dells for a weekend in November where they danced for 6 to 8 hours each day.

“I am very proud of the accomplishments of this young team. They are improving every day.” said Coach Seston.

The ladies are preparing for their competitive season, which begins January 17 at Eau Claire North in the Dunn-St.Croix Conference competition. They will then compete at New Richmond on January 31 in the WACPC Regional competition which will determine if they earn a spot at State. The Colfax Varsity Dance team can also be seen performing at many basketball games throughout the season.
