EAU CLAIRE -— Colfax-Bloomer wrestler Brady Simonson won all five of his matches to win the Eau Claire North Husky Invitational tournament Dec. 13.
Simonson, wrestling at 132 pounds, opened the day with a fall at 2:45 against his Blair-Taylor opponent, then won 8-4 over the Mondovi grappler to move into the first round of the finals. He pinned the Wittenberg-Birnamwood wrestler in 1:09, won by another fall at 3:28 against a Division 1 opponent from La Crosse Central, and won the championship match over Austin Najbrt of Cadott 13-8.
At 113 pounds, Justin Wachtendonk placed ninth with a record of 3-1, Jacob Malinowski placed 14th at 120 pounds with a 2-3 record, Jarrod Kressin was 19th at 138 with a 2-3 record and Jon Hayton won the 11th place match with a 3-2 record at 152 pounds.
Wrestling at 160 pounds, Zack Arvold placed 14th with a 1-3 record, Cole Anderson-Olson finished 11th, winning three matches and dropping two, Matt Shaw placed 15th at 182 pounds with a 2-3 record and 285 pounder Brady Chance took fourth with a 3-2 record.
