Elk Mound boys fifth, girls eighth at Fall Creek Invite

FALL CREEK — Caleb Kruger placed sixth for the Mounder boys to lead his team to a fifth place among 12 teams at the Fall Creek Invitational Cross Country meet Saturday, Sept. 13.

Kruger ran a time of 18:50 which was more than a minute behind conference rival Aidan Manley of Spring Valley who finished at 17:45. With 85 individuals in the competition, Lucas Winter was the second Mounder to cross the finish line for 17th place in 19:50, followed by Grant Kjellberg (35th, 20:56), Hayden Kohls (41st, 21:24), Nate Kruger (42nd, 21:25), Jared Strand (53rd, 21:42) and Ryan Mohr (63rd, 22:15).

Although Elizabeth Fasbender placed ninth individually for the Elk Mound girls, the team was last out of the eight in the field. Fasbender ran a time of 23:05 while teammate Hannah Cedarblade was 26th in 24:27. Next in line was Elayna Gutsch (42nd, 27:42) close behind her came Nevada LaPointe (43rd, 27:43), Hannah Carlson was next (47th, 29:22) and Kaitlyn Baier (50th, 30:34) The contest was won by Dani Whiting of Tomahawk in 20:12.
