COLFAX — Hosting a four team quadrangular meet August 26, the Colfax volleyball team won three matches, defeating Plum City 25-15, 25-20, 15-13, then took down Unity 25-15, 25-16, 15-9. They finished the evening off against the Eau Claire North junior varsity (a late fill in after a team backed out) by winning 25-9, 25-13, 15-13.
Kori Buchanan led the Vikings with 26 kills in the three matches while Chey Olson slammed 22. They both finished as team leaders in digs with 23 each. Marianne Scharlau came up with three block-kills and six block assists at the net.
“Since this was the first regular schedule match for all of the teams, everyone was trying to figure out ways to optimize their line ups,” coach Pam Meredith said. “I think we are very close but will have to tweak things in the next couple of weeks. The key for us is to stay healthy as the season progresses and to play with discipline.”
