Colfax Health and Rehab – 7-9-2014

The long awaited summer is here. Residents have been able to get outdoors and enjoy fresh air and sun shine. The courtyards green lush foliage has benefited from the numerous rain storms. They are looking as though they have been here for years and not just one year. Residents have also been busy indoors.

On Monday morning they attended devotion, current event and a flag waving exercise class. The monthly resident council meeting in the afternoon was also well attended. Bounce ball in the rotunda is the 6 p.m. program every evening.

On Tuesday morning it was back in the Square for devotions, reading and exercise. The afternoon program was Bingo! Julie Mitchell was our bingo caller. Happy hour shadowed bingo. Spirits for one’s Spirit. We served mixed drinks, wine, beer and chips and pretzels.

On Wednesday morning residents gathered in the Square to hear Pastor Conklin from Colfax Tainter United Methodist church as he led the church service. Delores Huber was our pianist. Linnea and Veda were here to help many days this week. At 1 o’clock the Rex Class on Birch lane gave residents a work out. In the afternoon it was back in the Square where the GIANT crossword puzzle was set up. Residents were served a cheese tray complete with crackers, cheese and meat along with cookies and coffee. No one goes hungry here!

On Thursday morning the Priest from Elk Mound had a mass for our Catholic residents. The volleyball players gathered on Birch for a fun volleyball game. In the afternoon Magic Mary Faeber entertained us with her incredible music. She had everyone singing patriotic songs in celebration of the upcoming Fourth of July. Several people took the microphone and sang along with Mary. What a fun event!

On Friday the Rex classes and Bounce ball classes were held. The special Dinner made the holiday perfect.

On Saturday residents played Hollywood in the afternoon. Many residents were out for the holiday enjoying family celebrations.
