Dr. Eugene Buchner, of Buchner Embryo Transfer Services, New Auburn, is proud to announce the addition of an associate veterinarian, Dr. Andrew Dietsche.
Dietsche grew up in Colfax on his family dairy farm where he learned to enjoy working with large animals. He graduated from Colfax High School and studied dairy science at UW-Madison.
He spent a summer internship in the UW-Madison reproduction and physiology lab where he became fascinated with genetics and bovine reproduction specialties. He then completed an internship with Buchner where he increased his knowledge on palpation, embryo transfer, and ultrasound technologies.
Dietsche attended UW-Madison graduate veterinary medicine program where he led ultrasound and palpation labs. While in veterinary school, he began performing embryo transfer and related veterinary work on his father’s dairy farm.
During his final year of veterinary school he received awards from Sexing Technologies and the American Embryo Transfer Association for his abilities and interest in bovine reproduction.
Dietsche graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May 2014. He and his wife, Laura, are excited to move back to their hometown area and become involved in their work and community.
Andrew is the son of Brad and Pam Dietsche. Laura grew up in Menomonie and her parents are Harvey and Sue Reckard.
Dr. Buchner and Dr. Dietsche will be offering bovine services specializing in general herd health, pregnancy diagnosis, ultrasound with fetal sexing, embryo transfer, freezing and shipping embryos, and general large animal medicine (on a limited basis).
