Colfax resident attends Bed and Breakfast seminar

Sue Hill of Colfax recently attended a special “Bed and Breakfast” seminar held in Stevens Point sponsored by the Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast Association.

The seminar was entitled, “So You Think You Want to be an Inn Keeper” and was attended by a group of 35 participants from Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Minnesota.

Sessions included financing; locating suitable property; permits and licensing; health and safety regulations; promotion and advertising; and the truth about the day-to-day operation of a bed and breakfast business.

The instructors were professionals in the fields of law, real estate, government health agencies and a variety of current B&B owners and operators.

The Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast Association offers Aspiring Inn Keeper seminars twice a year. The next seminar is scheduled for this fall.
