Yingst awarded G.F. “Sam” and Ethel V. Bauer/Bauer Built, Inc. Scholarship

DURAND – Bauer Built, Inc. of Durand, Wisconsin would like to announce Allison Yingst of Colfax High School as one of six 2014 winners of the G. F. “Sam” and Ethel V. Bauer/Bauer Built, Inc., Scholarship Award.

Bauer Built introduced this program in 1994 in commemoration of their 50th Anniversary and in honor of their founders, G.F. “Sam” and Ethel V. Bauer. Allison will be awarded $1,000 upon completing her first semester of post-secondary course of instruction. Allison is the granddaughter Bill Yingst Sr. who retired as VP-Human Resources from the Durand Corporate Office in 2011. Allison is the daughter of Bill Jr. and Sarah Yingst of Colfax. Allison will be attending University of Wisconsin-Madison in the field of International Studies. Since 1994, Bauer Built has awarded close to $85,000 in scholarships.

Other winners of the G.F. “Sam” and Ethel V. Bauer Scholarship were: Rickie Eisenhut from Martinsville High School in Martinsville, IN; Cole Waldhauser from Freeman Public High School in Freeman, SD; Jenna Jiskra from Mondovi High School in Mondovi, WI; Sarah Weber from Durand High School in Durand, WI; and Brett Hayden from Durand High School in Durand, WI.

Bauer Built, Inc. has been in business for 70 years servicing the Midwest in wholesale, commercial, and retail distribution of tires (new and retreaded), batteries, automotive services, and other related products. Bauer Built has 30 Tire Centers, 11 Wholesale Distribution Centers distributing new tires, retreaded tires, and related products and services across the Midwest, and 7 MRT (Michelin Retread Technology) retread plants. They also are in the Bulk Petroleum business which is what the company was originally founded on.
