GLENWOOD CITY – Garrett Gross, a kindergartener in the Glenwood City Elementary, recently was awarded a Sargent Art Award at the Wisconsin State Art Competition that was held on April 4, 2014.

The Sargent Art Company awards one student per state in grades K-5 with an award for best in show. Garrett’s drawing won the elementary category for all of Wisconsin.

Garrett, along with his siblings and his parents Jeffrey and Tryn Gross, traveled to the Capitol in Madison to receive the award and view the art show.

Garrett was awarded a bag of art supplies to take home and his art teacher, Laura Sperl was awarded a bag of classroom supplies provided by Sargent Arts.

“I’m happy that I took my time on my art and happy that I got my award,” shared Garrett. “It was really exciting to go to the Capitol and I want to go back.”
