Sand Creek Chatter – 4-30-2014
Pastor Michael Sparby of Chicago drove to Sand Creek on April 20 to be with Mae and the family for Easter. Ron and Mary Keller, Nate and Ashley Bingenheimer, Nick Sparby and Erik Sparby were altogether for Easter. Then they enjoyed another day together in St. Paul when they celebrated Mae’s birthday.
Louie and Judy Reetz and 5 children and their families spent two days at Three Bears Lodge at Warrens, WI with 22 in attendance during Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. They enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt and lots of good eating.
Rod and Carolyn Dahl traveled to Harrisburg, PA to spend a few days over Easter. They had Easter with Carolyn’s sister, Deslyn at the home of her daughter, Tari and Brian Hoke and family. They also helped Deslyn celebrate her birthday on Easter Monday. Rod and Carolyn arrived home on Thursday, April 24.
Carol Gustum went with Butch and Sue Mares to Amery, WI on Easter Sunday to celebrate the day with Butch’s mother and other family members.
A bridal shower was held for Tessa Gustum at the Sand Creek Chapel on Tuesday evening, April 22 hosted by church friends with Judy Horn as chairperson.
Kenny and Sharon Nelson spent a week aboard the steamboat, “American Queen” traveling from New Orleans up the Mississippi River to Vicksburg and back down river visiting plantations and Civil War historical sites. They returned to Sand Creek on April 19.
Guests at Dale and Sue Paulson’s for Easter dinner were Roger Paulson of Lino Lakes, Cindy Schaller of Whitehall and Eric Paulson of Chetek.
Everyone is invited to a “Farewell Open House Party” for Swanee Rasmussen on Sunday, May 18th from 2:30-6:30 p.m. at the Grace Room in the Old School in Sand Creek. Swanee will be moving on May 31st to live with her daughter, Carol and husband, John Squires in Friendsville, MD. Her new address will be: 494 Dixon Rd, Friendsville, MD 21531. She has resided in Sand Creek for a lifetime, at least 89 years. Please plan to join Swanee to remember old times, share special moments and to enjoy a time of food and fellowship. Children’s menu included.
Pastor Michael and Natalie Peterson of Lindstrom, MN visited his parents, Gene and Bonnie Peterson over Easter weekend, Sunday and Monday.
Norm and Merline Rufledt went to Kyle and Michelle Rufledt’s home in Bloomer to enjoy Easter.
Lyndon and Kathy Peterson took their family out for a belated Easter on Sunday, April 27 which included Jon and Anne Peterson, Sue and Dan Smith and Mason and also celebrated a birthday.
Thelma Waterhouse and Norma Waterhouse went to the home of Allen and Bev Waterhouse to celebrate Easter Sunday with all the family. Grandchildren enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt.
Norma Waterhouse met her high school friend, Arlene Koeneman at the Sand Creek Café for breakfast on Thursday morning April 24.
Kelly and Clayton Timm, Alex, Maggie and Adam ate with both families on Easter. First with Jerry and Sandy Timm and then later with Paul and Lou Ann Gilberts.
Sherry Waterhouse picked up Thelma to attend the Community Choir concert at New Hope Lutheran Church on Sunday evening, April 20th.
