Colfax students perform at Fourth Annual Spotlight Night

COLFAX — In front of a rather large audience, Colfax students from grades 6-12 danced, sang, read and played musical instruments as part of the Fourth Annual Spotlight Night talent show April 16. All proceeds from admission, concessions and an auction for gift baskets and handmade quilts went to the music department, with much of it going for camp scholarships.

Eight acts were voted on by members of the audience for the Fan Favorite including Abbie Greenwell with a vocal solo of “Human”, Jordan Johnson, vocal/piano solo “Say Something”, Natalie Dworak, vocal solo “Let it Go”, Bayli Vacho, marimba solo, “Jamaican Rhumba, Kaitlin Sauerwein, vocal solo “Landslide”, Cole Aspengren, reading “One Fish, Two Fish”, Andrew Buckley, vocal solo “In Summer” and the rock band “forte” made up of Katie Christoffel, Greenwell, Vacho and Dworak with the song “Hey Brother”. Buckley was presented the Fan Favorite award.

Also performing for the evening were the high school choir, grades 7-8 choir, sixth grade choir and the jazz band. Heidi Lieffort and Georgette Wendt served as the highly entertaining emcees for the night.
