APPLETON — Colfax High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members—Allison Yingst, Tucker Teige, Grady Gibson, Heidi Lieffort, and Abbie Greenwell—traveled to Appleton to participate in the State Leadership Conference, April 6-8.
The conference started with getting motivated by keynote speaker Justin Boudreau. Justin encourages students to think vs. telling them what to think. He is the co-author of the book for teens “Gearing up: Inside & out for a great life”. The two day conference had workshops and tours for members to attend to increase their business knowledge as well as compete in business events. Students who place in the top 2 of each event earn the right to compete at National Leadership Conference. Tucker Teige was recognized for finishing 1st place in the event Virtual Business Challenge. He placed 1st in the state of WI and 4th place overall in the nation, competing against 190 teams. Tucker is now a qualifier for the national conference.
