Sand Creek Chatter – 4-16-2014

Anita Jenson returned home on March 29 following a two-week trip to Hawaii.

Anita traveled with her daughter, Jodi, son-in-law, Joe, and grandsons, Carsten and Kennan to Hawaii. They spent 11 days on the Big Island and three days on Oahu. While on the Big Island, they enjoyed relaxing in their home by the ocean, sight-seeing, snorkeling, whale-watching and exploring the tide pools.

Joe and Carter went on a guided tour through the jungle to an area where there was flowing lava from Kilawea volcano.

On Oahu, they visited Pearl Harbor, The Valley of the Temples, and Waikiki Beach. It was a great two weeks.

Brenda Espeseth spent Saturday, April 5 helping her granddaughter, Luella, celebrate her first birthday at the home of her parents, David and Cassie Marc in Osceola. Other guests present were: Gary and Mary Hanson, Mark and Carol Hanson and Cari, also Caitlin Davis, Cristin Espeseth and boyfriend, Josh, Cassie’s friend, Heidi Woods and daughters, Terry and Ceil Marc

Jack and Kathy Vlcek of Milwaukee were Saturday evening, April 5th supper guests as well as staying overnight with George and Delores Vlcek. Another plus was celebrating Kathy’s birthday.

Thelma Waterhouse and daughter, Norma, went to Eau Claire on Saturday, April 5 to visit Thelma’s brother, Al, who was located at the Oakwood Villa in Altoona for Rehab. He has three broken ribs as the result of a fall.

Siblings present to help Carol Anderson celebrate her 70th birthday at the Grace Room of the Old School on April 5 were: Carol as the honoree, brother, Glenn Anderson and wife, Margie, sister, Sandy Anderson, sister, Corinne Koehler of Pueblo, CO, brother, Harlan who was there on Friday and his wife, Lana who was present again on Saturday, and sister, Norma and Bob Klimpke.

Among the many guests were Carol’s high school classmates including: Dennis Knutson, Rick Pruzek, Mary Ellen and husband, Ingman Ralph, Maxine Madison, Gary Dalhoe, Ingrid Rothenbeuhler, Anita Jenson, Carol Wall, Anita Nashlund and Galen Hagen.

Susan Carlson of Chippewa Falls met her mother, Avis Hanson in Sand Creek on April 5th and then both attended the 70th birthday celebration for Carol Anderson at the Grace Room of the Old School.

Travis and wife, Tammy Folie of Chetek, stopped to visit their grandparents, Dick and Elaine Clemmons on Saturday, April 5.

Pastor Rod and Barb Stueland of Dilworth, MN, were overnight guests of Doris and Herb Tallman on Monday evening, March 31. They called on Gerald and Anna Madison at The Maplewood in Bloomer during their visit in the area here on Monday. They had also eaten at the Sand Creek Café that Monday.
