Sand Creek News – 4-2-2014

Harlan and Lana Anderson left Sand Creek on Tuesday, March 11 for their annual trip to visit their daughter, Kristen and Colby Turner, Trent and Rachel in Gila Bend, Arizona. On Thursday, March 13, they stopped at Casa Grande, AZ to visit Robert and Norma Klimpke who were vacationing there.

 On Thursday, March 14, Harlan and Lana went to the Turner home. There was a family gathering on Sunday, March 16 to celebrate Rachel’s third birthday. They experienced 94° weather temperature that day. Then on Thursday, March 20, Harlan and Lana left Gila Bend to visit Corinne Koehler in Pueblo, CO Harlan and Lana returned home on Monday, March 24. Basically, there was no snow from Iowa and on to Arizona with only a little snow in the ditches in Iowa. While Wisconsin has all snow-covered fields.

The Cloverbuds met at the home of Sandy Timm on Sunday afternoon of March 23rd. They each created two greeting cards, using chalk, markers and fabric. Noah Nelson won the door prize.

Rod and Carolyn Dahl attended a play on Thursday evening, March 27th at the Baldwin High School where their granddaughter, Jacki Dahl played the part of the Cowardly Lion in “The Wizard of Oz”. Also attending the play were: Julie Cyrus and daughter, Marissa and Julie’s friend, Scott.

Dale and Sue Paulson, Dan and Debbie Paulson and Lynn Paulson went out for fish with Don and Julie Krause on Friday evening, March 28th.

Ryan Hanson stopped to visit his grandmother, Jean Hanson on March 29th. He told her about being in the Track Meet for Chetek-Weyerhauser High School.

Benson, Kelsey and Danika Paulson, the children of Aaron and Jenica Paulson spent Saturday night as overnight guests of their grandparents, Dan and Debbie Paulson.

Nicole Hanson was a Saturday night, March 29th overnight guest of her grandma, Jean Hanson.

Among those from Sand Creek attending the Rosann Slagel Fire Benefit Spaghetti Supper and Auction on Thursday, March 27th at the Ridgeland Community Center were: Carol Anderson and her granddaughter, Grace Neilsen, Jerry and Sandy Timm, Herb and Doris Tallman, Brenda Espeseth, Nancy Erickson and Swanee Rasmussen. Swanee was happy to see her cousins, Gene and Eunice Knutson, Ridgeland residents at the event.

Bonnie Peterson, Karen and Ryan Smith, returned on Tuesday, March 25th from a trip to Bridgetown, Barbados, where they visited Amy Smith who is serving there as a foreign service officer with the U.S. State Dept. They enjoyed the nice 81° weather and swimming in the Carribean waters.

Jenifer Cryder of Anchorage, Alaska arrived at her parents’ home of Glenn and Margie Anderson on Thursday, March 27th to spend a week and see other relatives and friends.

Dave and Sara Wattenford and Kalia of Sheboygan spent Saturday, March 29th with Glenn and Margie Anderson.

Daniel Schneider, the son of Cory and John Schneider and grandson of Glenn and Margie Anderson, performed in the high school play in Colfax, entitled “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” on Friday evening, March 28th and other weekend performances as well. His younger brother, Andrew, worked on the technical part, including sounds and lights.

Susan and Rich Carlson came to Sand Creek on Saturday, March 29th to take Maurice Edington out for his 13th birthday. Grandma Avis Hanson joined them to go to Bloomer to the Bohemian Ovens for pizza. Also joining them were Maurice’s parents, Blaine and Jeanie Edington, Terrien and Izabella.

Louie and Judy Reetz met Dave and Tracey Cowley, Trey, Reese and Brooks in Eau Claire on Sunday, March 30th to celebrate Tracey’s 40th birthday at Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurant.

Janica Larson, daughter of Brad and Melissa Larson, enjoyed a sleep-over at Toby and Judy Horn’s home on Saturday evening, March 29th.

On Sunday, Toby, Judy, Janica and Swanee Rasmussen attended church and then went to the Sand Creek Café for dinner.
