Sand Creek Chatter – 3-26-2014

Mary Knutson recently flew with her son, Tim Knutson, out of New York to London. They visited a number of sites, including Westminster Abbey where they attended a Vesper Service. Boys and young men presented beautiful music. It was enlightening to see spring flowers in bloom as well.

Floy Ann Lofthus returned home on March 13 after being in Golden Shores, Arizona for six weeks. She visited Betty Shipley and Carol Haugestuen. Kylee Lofthus joined Floy Ann in the visit during the last week of the visit in Arizona.

Dale and Sue Paulson were guests of Judy and Louie Reetz on Saturday, March 15 when they enjoyed lunch and played cards.

Butch and Sue Mares returned home on March 16 after spending a week in Carrolton, TX with their daughter Cara and her husband Chad Clark and granddaughter Cadence. They enjoyed good weather while in Texas.

Janette Hanson brought a dinner to Avis Hanson on Tuesday evening on March 18, when they had a nice visit.

Wayne and Mary Ann Omtvedt have a new granddaughter, Maya North born to their daughter, Stephanie and Adam North on Wednesday, March 19 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

Judy Horn served the Popple Creek Homemaker’s Club at her home on Monday evening, March 17.

Mark and Ami Dietsche, Madison and Rylan from Bettendorf, Iowa visited Doris and Herb Tallman from March 21 until March 23. Dan Dietsche of Minneapolis also visited the Tallman home for the weekend.

Louie and Judy Reetz celebrated Louie’s birthday at the home of Dave and Tracey Cowley and family in Black River Falls on Sunday, March 16. Also attending were Stephanie and Ben Moerke and family. In addition, Louie and Judy Reetz rented a poolside room at the Black River Falls Hotel where everyone enjoyed and evening of swimming.

Caryl Schoen traveled during the past week of March 20 to be with her granddaughter, Becca and family. The good news was that a new great grandson, Thomas had arrived in the household.

Judy Reetz joined her daughter, Jamie Bowe in Eau Claire for noon lunch on Friday, March 21.

Susan Carlson and Michael Edington had dinner with Avis Hanson at the Sand Creek Café on Saturday, March 22.

Lou Ann Krueger, Charlene Pagenkopf, Marion Zweifelhafer, Joni Fanetti and Judy Horn attended the craft sales at Chi-High and McDonell High Schools on Saturday, March 22 Afterward the group enjoyed lunch at an Asian restaurant in downtown Chippewa Falls.

Bob LeFevre went to Evanston, Illinois during the weekend of March 22 to visit his father. Then a friend also came in so they celebrated the birthday of the friend who turned 95.

Glenn and Margie Anderson enjoyed dinner after church with Cory and John Schneider, Andrew and Matthew on Sunday, March 23.
