Colfax Health and Rehab – 3-26-2014

While we anticipated the arrival of “Spring” on Thursday, we stayed busy passing the time.

Of course we celebrated St. Patty’s Day on Monday. Devotions, current events, and exercise started the day. Crafts, readings of the holiday and a video about Irish traditions sparked interest in the afternoon followed by the ever talented Mary Faeber and her “Magic” piano. Although it wasn’t happy hour day, residents were treated to “Grasshopper” dessert drinks.

Tuesday began with REX class as usual and ended with a few rounds of Bingo & Happy Hour.

On Wednesday we had church in the morning and a bowling tournament in the afternoon. Congrats to Cliff for once again taking home the traveling trophy! He will remain the reigning champ until next time….

Thursday rolled around but it forgot to introduce the cheery Spring we longed for. Volleyball is a favorite here so it helped keep residents smiling Thursday morning as they rallied. The theater kids from Colfax High School came at 1:30 to give us a sneak-peak on their up and coming production of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” What a talented bunch!

Gospel Sing & Rosary soothed us Friday morning before we partied the afternoon away playing dime bingo and being treated by the Colfax Tainter Church Ladies. They brought in birthday cake for everyone to enjoy to honor the Residents’ with March Birthdays. As always, visitors and volunteers are welcomed and appreciated.

This week even more so as Penny enjoyed some time off and left Cathy, Sue, Veda, and even Laura to run the show. That’s all for now in the land of Colfax where the residents miss Penny, and so do Cathy, Sue, Veda & Laura!!
