MEGAN SCHLEUSNER, a freshman at Colfax High School has found a way to learn about the business world by actually working in it rather than reading about it in a book. Megan began her own headband business when she was just a seventh grader, designing and sewing all the headbands, and has employed her younger sisters, sixth grader Morgan and pre-K student Macy for measuring, cutting and packaging the product. All three girls work at a stand selling the headbands and spent last weekend in Green Bay at the WIAA Girls State Basketball tournament hoping to earn a profit. Megan will use this experience as her project for the state FCCLA competition in the Entrepreneurship category. Megan is pictured with examples of her product.
