Doris and Herb Tallman returned to Wisconsin on March 6 after spending 10 days in Texas.
They visited Herb’s brother, Arlyn Tallman and his wife at Ft. Worth, Texas and also his sister Elva in Marble Falls, Texas near Johnson City which provided the privilege of seeing Johnson’s Ranch. They spent a couple of days in San Antonio and also a few days on the Gulf of Texas, visiting Houston Space Center and that area.
Tom and Judy Vaughn returned home on Sunday, March 9 from a trip to Casa Grande, Arizona They visited Judy’s sister, Barb and brother-in-law, Terry Lawson and enjoyed the warm weather. While there, they visited the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument.
Tessa Gustum celebrated a birthday on Sunday, March 9 with her family and friends at her parents’ home, Tom and Sue Gustum.
Sam Gustum had a birthday on March 11 when he turned 18.
Inez Schrader received an hour-long phone call from a family in Bergen, Norway, on Tuesday, March 11. Inez’ son, Patrick Anderson, who is stationed in Hungary, often visits this family, so they stay in touch.
Doris Tallman, Mae Sparby, Sandy Timm, Carol Anderson and Kathie Irwin, joined Inez on Tuesday afternoon at her home for coffee and goodies to celebrate Inez’ 90th birthday.
Pastor Barb Koch took Inez Schrader out for lunch at the Farm House Café in Bloomer on Thursday, March 13. This added joy to Inez’s birthday week.
Lee and Teresa Killoren returned to Sand Creek on March 11 after spending six days in Mexico. They explored the Riviera Mayan culture area of Mexico. Their travel also featured sting rays and dolphins.
Mary and Ron Keller of Hopkins, MN, spent the weekend of March 14-16 with Mary’s mother, Mae Sparby.
Inez Schrader hosted Swanee Rasmussen as her guest when they went to a fish dinner at St. Jospeh’s Catholic church in Menomonie on Friday evening, March 14.
Pastor Michael and Natalie Peterson of Lindstrom, MN visited Gene and Bonnie Peterson on March 15.
Michael Nelson along with his wife, Kelly, Zoe and Noah, recently traveled to Juan, Puerto Rico to take a 7-day cruise to the South Caribbean. The ship ported in St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and St. Maarten. While in Barbados they met up with cousin, Amy Smith at The Boatyard Beach. They snorkled with turtles, swam in a waterfall, toured a banana plantation and brought back lots of shells from Cockleshell beach. They celebrated Kelly’s 40th birthday while in St. Marrten. Afterwards, they spent two days exploring San Juan in Puerto Rico.
Merton and Marie Swanson along with Pete and Becky Berg went out for dinner together on Friday evening, March 14 after which they attended a concert by Nancy and The Backwood Boys held at the Cheska Opera House in Haugen. They were very pleased with the excellent music and enjoyed a great evening.
Jim and Lori Sokup and Toby and Judy Horn went to Tilden for Friday night, March 14, for fish fry. Jim and Judy are first cousins.
Dan Dietsche of Mpls., spent the weekend of March 14 and 15 with Doris and Herb Tallman.
Pat McClure of Fairbanks, Alaska is visiting family members in the area at this time.
Carol Anderson and her family attended Destination Imagination (DI) in Prescott, WI where her 9-year-old granddaughter, Grace Neilsen participated. Other Sand Creek participants were: Maggie Timm and Brody Killoren. This event took place on Saturday, March 15.
Melissa and Janica Larson, along with Judy Horn, went to Down to Earth Garden Center in Eau Claire on Saturday, March 15. The three enjoyed the greenhouse and then had lunch in the Café and Gift Shop.
Brenda Espeseth and Nancy Erickson attended the State Hockey Championship games for Nancy Erickson’s granddaughter, Caitlyn Erickson at Eagle’s Nest in Verona, WI on Saturday, March 15. Caitlyn is on the New Richmond team. Hudson and New Richmond battled it out with Hudson taking the State Championship However, New Richmond had done very well, as they had won two games before losing the last game to Hudson.
