Sand Creek Chatter – 3-5-2014

The Sand Creek Pipers 4-H will be collecting food at Security Bank in Sand Creek for the Chetek Food Pantry March 10 – 14. In recognition of St. Patrick’s Day, community members are asked to bring in green non-perishable food or green packaged food to the drop box at the bank.

Rhonda Nelson visited Swanee Rasmussen on Friday afternoon, February 28. It was an enjoyable time for both.

Tom and Caryl Schoen were coffee guests of Swanee Rasmussen at Morningside Apts on Saturday afternoon, March 1.

Judy Gronning, Jean Hanson, Janice Wendlandt and Jamison Wendlandt went out for supper at Sportsman’s Supper Club in celebration of Judy’s birthday on Tuesday evening, February 25.

Pastor Michael Sparby of Chicago came to Sand Creek on Wednesday evening, February 26 then on Thursday, February 27, Mary and Ron Keller, Nate and Ashley Bingenheimer, Nick Sparby, Erik Sparby and Mae Sparby all had dinner together in St. Paul. Pastor Michael Sparby returned to Chicago on Friday morning.

Wes and Deloris Paulson of Altoona, Gene Peterson, Jean Larson and Mae Sparby met together at the Sand Creek Café for noon lunch on Friday, February 28.

Toby and Judy Horn, along with their son, Michael from Woodbury attended the Chippewa Valley Outdoor Resource Alliance (CVORA) banquet and fund raiser held in Chippewa Falls on Saturday, March 1.

Kenny and Sharon Nelson arrived home in Sand Creek on March 1 after spending a month’s vacation in Palm Springs, CA. While there, Brad, Deb and Daine Carr visited Kenny and Sharon then Kenny and Sharon went to Golden Shores to visit Floy Ann Lofthus who was staying with Carol and Betty Hughes.

Karen Smith attended a bank meeting at Wisconsin Dells last week.

Judy Reetz watched her granddaughter Addysen Welch play high school basketball at Elmwood on Tuesday evening, February 25 against Plum City and Elmwood won the game.

Louie and Judy Reetz attended a birthday party in honor of Jack Clark’s 80th birthday party held in Bloomer at the Senior Center on Saturday, March 1.

Nice comments were made about the Korman family, who rendered very enjoyable gospel music at the Grace Room in the Old School on Saturday evening, March 1.

Swanee Rasmussen, Jean Hanson, Lillian Wendlandt and Nancy Erickson attended the movie, “Son of God” at Micon theatre in Chippewa Falls on Friday evening, February 28. The movie was incredibly well done.

Brenda Espeseth and her friend Debbie Johnson traveled to Oklahoma on Friday to drop off Debbie’s grandson, Jamerick Johnson to live with his mother in Texas. They ran into snowy weather and icy conditions. They spent a night in Eagle’s Landing, Missouri and arrived back in Sand Creek at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 2.
