Colfax Village Board candidate: Jeremy Klukas

COLFAX — Five candidates have filed nomination papers for three positions on the Colfax Village Board for the April 1 election: Mark Halpin (incumbent); Richard Johnson (incumbent); Carey Davis; George Richards; and Jeremy Klukas.

The Colfax Messenger sent out candidate questionnaires to all of the candidates, and Klukas returned the fourth questionnaire to the Messenger office.

Klukas, 36, is a graduate of Colfax High School and a resident of High Street in Colfax. He is an electrical manager for Kelly Heating and Electric, LLC.

His family includes his wife, Sara, and two daughters, Hailey and Kennedy.

1. Why did you decide to run for election to the Colfax Village Board? I feel that a new outlook on issues and opportunities would benefit the Village of Colfax.

2. What aspects of your background make you particularly suited for serving on the village board? Working as a Manager and Supervisor in the Electrical Trade for 16 years, I have been involved with timelines, budgets and finding ways to get things done efficiently and cost effective.

3. What issues do you see as being the most important for Colfax and why? Streets, housing and business development.
