Sand Creek Chatter – 2-26-2014

No Bluegrass jam this month, Sand Creek Arts will be hosting a concert by the Korman Family on March 1st at 7pm.

Since this is in lieu of a bluegrass jam, a freewill donation will be collected and snacks available. Please plan to join us for a great time.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of “Snort” Norman Gilberts who passed away in Colfax on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. His funeral services were scheduled for Tuesday, February 25th at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Lutheran Church in Sand Creek with Pastor Barb Koch officiating.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Elaine Froiland who passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 in Bloomer at the Maplewood. The funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Sand Creek with Pastor Barb Koch officiating. Interment will be in Our Savior’s Cemetery in Sand Creek following the service.

Paul and Lou Ann Gilberts drove to Eau Claire on Saturday evening February 22 to watch their grandson, Adam Timm play hockey at Hobbs Arena.

Kelly Timm and Lou Ann Gilberts had some busy days last week organizing their shop in Chetek. “Carpe Diem” opened on Wednesday, February 19 for the spring and summer season.

With different grandchildren participating on different teams: Maggie Timm and her mother, Kelly Timm traveled to Park Falls on Saturday, February 22 where Maggie played hockey on the Barron-Chetek team.

Clayton Timm and son, Alex were in Hudson, on Saturday, February 22. Alex is on the Northwest Ice Men team. It was a play-off game with Hudson.

Luanne Prochnow, who is Vice President of Stepping Stones in Menomonie spoke at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Sand Creek on Sunday morning, February 23. She shared how friend’s donations to Stepping Stones  help those in need in various ways. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Carol Schoen, Lana Anderson and George Vlcek worked on the Election on Tuesday, February 18.

Dick Clemmens took his wife, Elaine up to Sandstone, MN on Saturday, February 15 to the Midwest Country Theater for a Valentine’s Party featuring Country Singers.

Carol Anderson has been spending a few days with Ingrid Rothenbuehler in Chetek during the week following Valentine’s Day, as she was recovering from heart surgery.

Margie Anderson and her daughter, Corey Schneider took Glenn Anderson to Red Lobster for his February 7th birthday.

Tom and Caryl Schoen hosted supper at their home on Saturday evening, February 22 for Glenn and Margie Anderson and had a great time of playing dominoes.

Glenn and Margie Anderson enjoyed a special time with Mary Knutson and her dog Tucker one evening last week.
