Bloomer-Colfax grapplers finish 1-3-1 at O-F tournament

It was a busy Saturday for the  Bloomer-Colfax wrestling team as they competed in five dual meets at the Osseo-Fairchild tournament Jan. 11. Facing strong competition as they seem to be doing at all their weekend meets, BC won 43-34 over Independence-Gilmanton, tied Osseo-Fairchild-Altoona-Augusta-Fall Creek 42-42 but lost to Mondovi 54-27, LaCrosse Logan 66-9, and Arcadia 51-25.

 Brady Simonson had a near perfect day with a 5-0 record at 126 pounds, winning two matches via pins, one by a major decision and the other two by decisions.

Justin Wachtendonk finished 2-3 for the day with one decision and a forfeit at 106 pounds,Tucker Hovde lost four matches at 113 pounds and had a forfeit win, David Blanchard had three forfeit wins and lost his two other matches at 120 pounds and Austin Summerfield, wrestling at 132, won two matches and lost three on the day.

Collin Burgartz, competing at 138 pounds went 0-3 and Jon Hayton went 2-3 for the day at 145, Trevor Newton was pretty successful as he finished 3-2 at 152 pounds, Dan Thorgerson won a pair of matches and lost three at 160 pounds, Lassi Karpi and Cole Anderson-Olson split time at 170 pounds with Anderson-Olson going 1-2 while Karpi was 1-1and Matt Shaw had a rough go at 182 pounds as he dropped all five matches.

Cody Hetchler also lost all three of his matches at 195 pounds while Stephan Snyder won three matches by forfeit and lost two in the 220 pound class, and Brennan Arbuckle finished 3-2 with a pair of forfeit wins.

B-C travels to Superior Jan. 14 for a make up match then returns to conference competition with a match at Chetek Jan. 17.
