Colfax Dance Team captures Dunn-St. Croix Championship

The Colfax Varsity Dance Team competed Saturday, January 4th in Hudson, WI in the Western Wisconsin Dance Conference Competition. Colfax won a 1st place trophy for its Pom routine in the Dunn St. Croix Conference.

Some of the great comments by the judges were “duet A-turns were spot on”, “super great facials”, “wonderful pom strength”, and “great entrance, strong, made me excited to watch”.

The team also won a 1st place trophy for their Jazz routine in the Dunn St. Croix Conference. One judge loved the red dresses the girls wore as they matched the lyrics of the song. Another judge said, “great use of music and the variety of skills”.

Finally all schools could compete for the conference championship if they competed with 2 routines of their choice between pom, jazz, kick, and hip hop. The Colfax Dance Team earned the title of Dunn St. Croix Conference Champs for having the highest combined score for their 2 routines.

The great day didn’t end there as Natalie Dworak choreographed a solo routine which she performed at this conference competition. Individually she earned a 1st team all conference award for the Dunn St. Croix Conference and a 2nd place trophy for her hard work.

For the next couple weeks the team will be working on preparing their Pom and Jazz dances for Regional competition in New Richmond on Saturday, January 25th.
