Sand Creek Chatter – 12-18-2013

Tom Schoen is progressing well after two recent eye surgeries quotes his wife, Caryl.

 The Gustum children of Independent Bible Church in Sand Creek presented a musical program at the Colfax Nursing Home on Friday afternoon, Dec. 13 and the ladies of the church provided desserts for the residents.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Barry Lofthus whose funeral took place at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bloomer on Wednesday, Dec. 4 with Pastor Robert Otto officiating.

Sympathy is extended to Lois Aasen’s family and friends in the recent passing of Lois’s mother, Anna Hoff on Dec. 2 and the funeral was conducted at Hay River Lutheran Church on Thursday, Dec. 5th.

Gene and Bonnie Peterson met Swanhild Rasmussen at the Eau Claire Airport on Tuesday, Dec. 10th after she enjoyed a 10-day visit with her daughter, Carol and husband, John Squires in Friendsville, M.D.

Independent Bible Church held their annual Sunday School Christmas program at 10 a.m. at the morning church service on Sunday, Dec. 15.

Cory and John Schneider, along with Glenn and Margie Anderson had supper together in Chippewa Falls on Friday evening, Dec.13 and attended the movie, “The Book Thief”.

On Sunday evening, Dec. 8th The Sand Creek 4H Pipers joined with Sand Creek Arts to host the Soup and Sing at the Grace Room in the Old School with a fantastic turn-out of about 80 people. Performances were done by the Gustum children, Jamison Wendlandt and Debbie Goodremote accompanied the Sing-A-Long.

George and Delores Vlcek attended their grandson, Hunter Vlcek’s Christmas Church program on Saturday evening Dec 14. Then on Sunday, they attended Whitney Fisher’s graduation from U.W. River Falls.

New Hope Lutheran Church had their Christmas Cantata, including the Children’s program, on Saturday eve., Dec. 15 at 7pm in Sand Creek.

“Ride with Santa” will be put on by the Fire Department and Library. Those interested will meet at the Old School Gym on Sat. Dec. 21 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Do join in on the fun!

Kenny and Sharon Nelson flew out to Burbank, CA where they celebrated grandson, Daine Carr’s first birthday on Dec. 9. He is walking and moving right along.
