The George Vlcek family members have been preparing for the opening of deer hunting which will be Saturday, November 23. This is an annual family event.
Nicole Hanson, Madi, Lexi and Joshua Hanson were overnight guests of their grandmother, Jean Hanson on Friday evening of November 15.
Friends in the Independent Bible Church held a bridal shower for Hannah Gustum at the church on Saturday afternoon, November 16. The groom’s mother and three siblings were in attendance. Hannah’s friend, Becky Lindgren from near Superior stayed overnight with Hannah following the bridal shower. Becky and Hannah sang in a duet at the morning church service of Independent Bible Church on November 17.
The Sand Creek Fire Department was called on Saturday, November 16 to a farm south of Sand Creek where the baler caught fire and created a serious loss for the owner of the baler.
Gene Peterson will celebrate his 80th birthday on Sunday, November 24 at the Grace Room at the Old School from 2 to 5 p.m. “Happy Upcoming Birthday Gene!”
Leitha (Smith) Swanson and son David met Gene and Bonnie Peterson at the Sand Creek Café for noon lunch on Tuesday, November 12.
Sue Piotrowski celebrated her birthday on November 13. She received many cards, phone calls and gifts. Her son Rocky will be coming at a later date to celebrate with her. Nancy Erickson and Sue celebrated with lunch at the new “Farmhouse Café” in Bloomer.
Dick Clemmens and his daughter, JoAnne Piper attended a funeral for their aunt, Doris DeYoung which was held at a Lutheran Church in Baldwin on Saturday morning, November 16.
Carol Squires will be coming to Sand Creek to visit her mother, Swanee Rasmussen and friends and relatives on Sunday, November 24.
The Phoebe Circle of New Hope Lutheran Church visited at Hetzel’s Care Center in Bloomer on Friday, November 15 presenting a program, singing together and providing dessert and coffee to all following the program.
On Saturday evening, November 16, Harlan and Lana Anderson were visited by Sharon and Karen Hegna, Marc and Kristen Anderson, Isaac and Luke. Everyone had a great time playing board games and cards.
