Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Pastor Bob and Julie Koepp and family and Ralph Jenson in the passing of Julie Koepp’s mother, June Jenson of Reynolds, North Dakota on Friday, October 11.
The funeral services were held at 11 o’clock a.m. on Tuesday, October 15 at Faith Evangelical Free church in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Tom and Sue Gustum of Independent Bible church in Sand Creek, drove out to Reynolds, North Dakota to attend the funeral service for Julie Koepp’s mother, June Jenson.
On Thursday, Sept. 26, Bob and Mary Hanson visited their daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Matt Lois and children, Jenna and Adam. On Friday evening and Saturday, Mary and Katie attended a Cub Scout event leaving Grandpa Bob in charge of transporting Jenna to a volleyball game and a water park. Saturday evening, Bob and Jenna joined Mary and Katie in Milwaukee, where they met Mary’s brother, John and his family for dinner. Bob and Mary returned to Sand Creek on Monday, Sept. 30.
On Tuesday, Oct. 1, Mary and Bob joined Ruth and Russ Osterberg of Alexandria, MN and Barb Raymond of Minneapolis at the homes of Larry and Teri Hanson and Eunice and Bob Dewey near Barnes, WI for their annual fall get together. They enjoyed spending time together in the warm fall weather among the beautiful colored trees. The siblings returned to their respective homes on Thursday, October 4.
The Senior Citizens met at the Senior Center for a 5:30 supper on October 7. A few games were played , such as naming the kinds of apples which the Men’s Team won. A relay was played using canvas gloves. Try it sometime. It just is not easy.
Merton Swanson, Sandy Anderson and Sue Favero met at the Sand Creek Café on Wednesday, Oct. 2 for an enjoyable evening reminiscing and catching up on news in the area.
Jerry and Sue Favero and Dan and Mary Lynn Toycen flew to Seattle on Oct. 5 to attend the funeral of Annette Weyerhaeuser. Elaine Toycen spent the week end with Jack and Renny Kidder in Minneapolis from Oct. 5 to 7.
Glenn and Margie Anderson drove to Cortez, Colorado where they celebrated the 70th birthday party for all who been born in 1943. They visited the archeological digs of Indian artifacts in that area and they saw the Valley of the Monuments and had a wonderful time among old friends. Glenn and Margie returned to Sand Creek on Oct. 12.
Swanee Rasmussen and Elaine Toycen attended the 90th birthday party for Ardys Hoveland at the Grapevine in Colfax on Saturday afternoon of October 12.
Doris and Herb Tallman drove to Bettendorf, Iowa for the baptism of Mark and Amy Dietsche’s son, Rylan on Sunday, October 6th followed by a dinner at the Mark Dietsche home.
Claire Knutson went with her grandmother, Mary Knutson to the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra performance at the State Theater on Saturday evening, October 12. Prior to the performance, they had dinner at the Oliver Garden.
On Oct. 11 and 12, Paul, Dan and Mark Dietsche, Kyle and Michael Lindau came out to the Tallman farm to prepare stands for deer hunting. Joanie Lindau came to the farm for Saturday and also Aaron and daughter, Deb. A nice family day.
Gail Weyerhaeuser of Tacoma, WA arrived in Sand Creek on Sunday evening, of October 13 to spend a week with her mother, Elaine Toycen until October 20th.
Vivian Stensby and Mary Knutson visited Pat Madison at the Bloomer hospital on Sunday, October 13.
Kevin and Kirsten Townsend hosted a family birthday party for their little son, Tate, for his second birthday on Sunday, October 13 for family members of Dr. Larry and Colette Knutzen.
Plan to attend the eighth annual Pumpkin Fest and Art Fair at the Old School Gym in Sand Creek on Oct. 17, 18 and 19.
Enjoy a different soup and bread and dessert every day. Hours are: Thursday 4-8 p.m., Friday 11 – 7 p.m., and Saturday 9 – 3 p.m.
