Lee and Teresa Killoren, Brody and Bryce met friends, Dave and Tracey Cowley to go camping the week after Labor Day at Stony Creek Campground in Osseo children enjoyed a number of activities and they all had a great time.
George and Delores Vlcek attended the Car Show at the Twin City Fairgrounds on Sunday, September 29.
Karen Hegna of Minneapolis, recently purchased the Verna Knowlton home in Sand Creek. Congratulations, Karen.
Ken and Karen Fetterly, Nolan and Nick of Spring Valley, MN, spent the weekend of Sept. 20, 21 and 22 with Gene and Bonnie Peterson and also visited Joel and Karen Smith, Jack and Ryan. The boys especially enjoyed playing together.
Tom and Caryl Schoen took in Oktoberfest on the weekend of Sept. 20 and Sept. 22. They celebrated with German food and enjoyed different music.
Merline Rufledt called on her mother, Selma Lee in Bloomer on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Kaylee and Ryan Lemler, and their children, 11 year-old Braden and 10-year-old Hannah have purchased a home in Sand Creek. Kaylee’s parents are Jerry and Melanie Donath. Family members helped them move on Sept. 27 and 28. Sand Creek welcomes the Lemler family.
Elaine Toycen and Sue Favero visited Ray and Ardith Gilberts at Milestone Living in Eau Claire on Wednesday, Sept. 18. They have a lovely 2 bedroom apartment with a patio.
Carol Anderson recently returned from the heavy rains and flooding in Colorado. She went to Colorado to visit friends for a Life Celebration Party of a former colleague, to attend a 50th Anniversary party for the Aurora Branch of American Association of University Women, and also to visit two of her children and a grandson. While she was there, the rains started along with heavy hail which brought extensive flooding and destruction when all creeks, rivers and canals in Aurora and the northern and northeastern areas of the Denver and lasted for six days. Both children suffered minor damage but many people experienced extensive losses and will have a long time recovering. Fortunately, she stayed with friends in an area where rain was the only consequence and she escaped unscathed.
Sandy Anderson and Sue Favero visited Snort Gilberts in Colfax on Thursday evening of Sept. 19. Snort loves to hear Sand Creek news.
Jerry and Sandy Timm have had some weeks attending grandsons’ soccer and football games with Jordan Fader and Alex Timm. Jordan played with the Rice Lake Warriors and Alex played football for the Chetek Bulldogs.
Judy Reetz watched Brayden and Masyn Wolf of Elmwood play football at Spring Valley on Saturday, Sept. 21
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, Louie and Judy Reetz watched Addysen Welch of Elmood High School play volleyball at Elk Mound.
Jerry and Becky Loftus attended Parents’ Night at the Chetek Homecoming when Chetek played football on Friday night of Sept. 27. with their son, Lance on the team. Lacey Loftus attended the game with the family to see her brother play on the team
Dan Dietsche arrived at the Tallman farm on Friday, Sept. 27. Michael and Lynn Lindau planned to join his mom, Joanie Lindau and the family to watch Ben Dietsche, the son of Paul and Janeen Dietsche, play on the Marshfield football team. Grandparents, Doris and Herb Tallman joined them to support Ben and the team. as well.
The Tom Gustum family, Carol Redman and Swanee Rasmussen of Sand Creek attended the Prophecy Conference at the Otter Creek Fellowship church near Wheeler with David Hocking as guest speaker on Friday evening of Sept. 27. Some chose to attend sessions on Saturday, Sept. 28 and others came on Sunday, Sept. 29 for the final day of the conference,Toby and Judy Horn and others from Colfax came on Sunday.
The Sand Creek Pipers 4-H Club will meet at New Hope Lutheran church on Sunday afternoon, October 6 at 4 p.m. New members are encouraged to join that day.
The Bluegrass Jammers are getting together on the first Saturday evening on October 5th at 6:30 p.m. in the Grace Community Room of the Old School. See you there.
