Colfax linksters have busy schedule

With three meets in a seven day span, the Colfax girls’ golf team had a chance to check out some different courses as well as play against some good competition.

On Sept. 5 the three members of the team traveled to Hammond as Whitney DeMoe led the group with a round of 43 on the nine hole course. On Sept. 10, the girls competed at Clifton Highlands in Prescott where Whitney placed third with a 43 again, just two shots behind the top two golfers. Hannah DeMoe came up with two pars in the match while Allie Yingst made par on one hole and had a chip in for a birdie.

Whitney tied for medalist honors with a New Richmond golfer at Bristol Ridge in Somerset Sept. 12 shooting another 43 while Hannah placed eighth and Yingst was 22nd in a field of 43.

The next competition for the girls will be the regional meet Oct. 2 in Cumberland.
