St Croix Valley Master Gardeners Association (SCVMGA) will hear Wayne Huhnke, owner of Kinnic Natives of River Falls, discuss seed saving techniques for prairie and other plants.
Huhnke is active in Prairie Enthusiasts, an organization responsible for seed saving of prairie forbs, as well as maintaining prairie remnants in our area. He’ll tell us the proper way to pick and save those special seeds. Wayne and Michelle own Kinnic Natives, a local nursery specializing in native prairie plants grown in our area.
In addition to Huhnke’s presentation, several of the recipients of the SCVMGA grant program will be on hand to report on the results of the grants distributed last May. The meeting will be Thursday, September 26 at the Unitarian Society Church, 8010 Highway 65 S, southeast of River Falls. The meeting starts at 6:45 pm with the speakers at 7:15. The public is invited.
