Food from Fair will feed the hungry. Every year, fairs across the United States make a big impact on their community. This year, the goal was to make that impact even BIGGER. The International Association of Fairs and Expositions had asked all of its member fairs to come together to do a universal service project at their annual fair; a food drive for each local community.
The Pierce County Fair stepped up to the challenge by collecting the equivalent of 854 pounds of food during their August annual event. Fairgoers & exhibitors participated by bringing a canned good/non-perishable food item or two with them when they visited the Pierce County Fair, August 8th-11th. Donations were accepted at our three gate locations and pre-fair in the Fair Office located in the Seyforth Bldg. All of the donations were turned over to the Pierce County Hunger Prevention Counsel who will then distribute a portion to Bay City, Ellsworth, Elmwood, Plum City, Prescott, River Falls and Spring Valley food pantries.
