Kristin and Colby Turner, Trent and Rachel, came for a week’s vacation on July 12 to visit Kristin’s parents, Harlan and Lana Anderson.
While they were here, the family had a get-together with Marc and Kristen Anderson, Isaac and Luke, Beth and Adam Kirby and had an early birthday celebration for Trent’s 6th birthday. The Turners and Lana went to Green Bay where they visited Lana’s sister, Linda and Paul Hering. The children enjoyed a trip to Bay Beach Amusement Park and Kristin and Colby toured Lambeau Field. Back to Sand Creek, Colby caught a 42-inch musky in the Red Cedar River. They returned to Gila Bend, AZ on July 19.
Jim, Jessica, Nate, Josh, Camila, Angie and Roci Hanson traveled to Washington State for a family wedding on July 13-21. They were joined by Jim’s parents, Bob and Mary Hanson and sister, Katie and Matt Lois, Jenna and Adam. The whole family rented a cabin on Camano Island, just north of Seattle and enjoyed the daily views and sea breezes off Puget Sound. Jim’s cousin, Andrew Otto married Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff in Bellingham, WA.
Maren Hanson of Eden Prairie, MN and her mother, Marge Hanson of Hastings, MN drove out to Sand Creek on Monday, July 22 and picked up their cousin, Swanhild Rasmussen to go out for lunch at the Daily Brew in Bloomer.
Andrew Candler bought a pie from the Schwan’s man and treated pie to all the Morningside Apt. residents in honor of Audrey Weaver’s July 22nd birthday.
Jerry and Sue Favero along with their grandson, Kingston, from Seattle and Sandy Anderson, drove to Green Bay on Wednesday, July 24th to attend the annual Share Holders meeting at Lambeau Field. They enjoyed touring the new South End seating area. It was a very fun-filled day!
Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Adeen Johnson who passed away at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie on Tuesday, July 23rd. Her funeral service was held at New Hope Lutheran church with Pastor Barbara Koch presiding in Sand Creek on Saturday, July 27th followed by burial in the family lot of Zion Cemetery.
George and Delores Vlcek’s granddaughter, Esther Langer, arrived from Pasadena, CA on Tuesday, July 23rd along with her other grandma, Julie Langer. Esther and her grandma Julie, went to Viola camp in Stevens Point for lessons and concerts continuing through August 10th.
A surprise 25th Anniversary party was held for Tom and Sue Gustum after church services at Independent Bible Church on Sunday, July 28th. Sue’s sisters served cake and ice cream as well as sandwiches and salads which provided a nice event for everyone. The Gustum children provided violin music with guitar accompaniament for all to enjoy.
Judy Reetz took Esther Reetz to Chippewa Falls for shopping on Sunday, July 28th and then they returned to Bloomer to have lunch at The Bohemian Ovens. Esther still resides at the Country Terrace.
