Food from Fair will feed the hungry. Every year, fairs across the United States make a big impact on their community. This year, the goal is to make that impact even BIGGER.
The International Association of Fairs and Expositions has asked all of its member fairs to come together to do a universal service project at their annual fair; a food drive for each local community. Every fair will report to the IAFE the amount of food donation brought in with the hopes that when the 2013 fair season ends, 20 MILLION pounds of food will be brought in thanks to the fairs and their guests!
The Pierce County Fair is stepping up to the challenge and we want to see if we can bring in MORE FOOD DONATIONS THAN ANY OTHER FAIR IN WISCONSIN. Fairgoers are being encouraged to participate by bringing a canned good/non-perishable food item or two with them when they visit the Pierce County Fair, August 8th-11th. We’ll be accepting donations at any of our three gate locations or pre-fair in the Fair Office located in the Seyforth Bldg. All of our donations will be distributed by the Fair staff after the August 8th-12th event and will go to food pantries within Pierce County.
On behalf of the Pierce County Fair Committee and staff, we want to say “THANK YOU” in advance for helping make our BIG FAIR FOOD DRIVE the best in Wisconsin as we help our local community and we DREAM BIG IN 2013!
