David and Janice Wendlandt and Jamison came over to Morningside Apts. on Sunday evening of July 7th to celebrate David’s mother, Lillian Wendandt’s birthday on her special day.
Tom and Judy Vaughn, and daughter, Kim Weiss of Eau Claire, Shelly and David Rae and family of Sand Creek, celebrated the 4th at Mike and Diane Vaughn’s home in New Auburn.
Rocky Thompson of Minocqua spent a few days after the 4th of July with his mother, Sue Piotrowski. Sue’s other guests included a cousin form Sacramento, CA and also a cousin from Andover, MN.
Library News: The library has a two Kindle paper whites available for check out. They are loaded with some best sellers. If you would like to try reading a book, stop by the library.
Bob and Cathy LeFevre celebrated the 4th of July with a canoe/kayak trip down the Hay River with their son, Greg and his wife, Nancy-Jeanne (San Francisco) and son, Kevin, (Ohio) and Bob’s brother, Tom of Jim Falls.
LouAnn Gilberts attended the Go-Cart Races at Thunderhill on Saturday, July 6 where she watched Sam Mars race and he WON. They also had a nice fireworks display that evening.
Alex, Maggie and Adam took part in the Hydroflites in Chetek on Sat., July 6 and Sun., July 7 at the 6 and 7 p.m. shows.
Paul and LouAnn Gilberts both took in the July 13 evening water shows. Another plus for them was seeing Sam and Taylor Mars play ball in Menomonie.
Joanie Williams great grandsons and their dad, went to the Tractor Pull with Jerry Loftus on Sat., July 13.
Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Marjorie Gronning who passed away at Knapp Haven in Chetek on Monday, July 8. Marjorie Gronning is the mother of Jean Hanson and Janice Wendlandt, Sand Creek residents. A visitation will be held for Marjorie Gronning on Saturday, July 20th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11 o’clock a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Chetek with a dinner at the church after the service.
Other family members of Marjorie include: Joan and Roger Nichols and children and families from Michigan, Judy Gronning of Eau Claire, Dawn Gronning and Andrea of Chetek, Jean Hanson’s children include: Kurt and Janene Hanson and children, Jolene and Scott Frey and sons, Brad and Tricia Hanson and son Brayden, Karl and Hannah Hanson and children, Janice and Dave Wendlandt, Janessa Wendlandt, Jordan and Crystal Wendlandt and children, Jonathan and Alicia Wendlandt and daughter, as well as Jamison Wendlandt.
Snort Gilberts returned home to Sand Creek on Friday, July 12 after being hospitalized at Bloomer Hospital nearly two weeks.
Sandy Anderson and Elaine Toycen visited Adeen Johnson at Myrtle Werth Hospital in Menomonie on Saturday afternoon of July 13 where Adeen is recuperating from a broken hip.
That same day, Elaine Toycen met her son, Dave and Diane Toycen of Toronto at the Menomonie Shuttle from the Mpls. Airport on Sat., July 13.
Robin Fossum, a fine violin and Hardanger fiddle musician, presented a varied concert at the Grace Nyhus Community Room at the Olde School on Sat. evening, July 13. A bonus provided was coffee and ice cream with delicious toppings and fellowship with the guests in attendance. Ruthie Gundale was present for the concert.
