Sand Creek Chatter – 6-19-2013
Jerry Favero returned to Sand Creek on Thursday, 6/13/2013 after spending three weeks in Moore, Oklahoma with the American Red Cross following the Tornado of 5/20/2013.
He worked in a MARC (Multi Agency Resource Center) located at Westmoore High School providing replacement of lost medicine and medical equipment such as Nebulizers, CPAP Machines, Glasses, Hearing Aids, Dentures, Wheelchairs, etc. Much of this equipment was replaced at no cost to the victims of the Tornado. Jerry had one case where he talked with the mother of one of the children who died in the elementary school. It turns out that the boy died saving the life of another student whom he went to comfort as the Tornado was hitting their school A memorial site will be dedicated in his honor and he is being referred to as a true Hero, having made the ultimate sacrifice to save the life of another.
