LA CROSSE — Freshman sprinter Jonah Bauer gave the Elk Mound boys’ track and field team their only points at the state track and field meet held May 31-June 1 at La Crosse by placing seventh in the 100 m dash.
After running a time of 11.03 in the sectional meet, Bauer finished at 11:36 this time around. Bauer was also a member of the 4 X 200 relay team along with seniors Jordan Klemp, Ryan Bridges and Andrew Zabel who placed 13th in the prelims with a time of 1:33.27.
“This was a great experience for Jonah and hopefully it will help him in the next few years,” coach Jeff Mack said. “And for the three seniors to be able to compete at state was a nice way to end their careers.”
