MENOMONIE — The Colfax Health and Rehabilitation Center has received a $5,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Dunn County to purchase rehabilitation equipment.
The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Dunn County recently approved grants totaling $25,523 for six local organizations.
Grants are available for non-profit organizations throughout all of Dunn County from the Foundation’s Community Grant Fund.
In addition, organizations that provide programs and services in a wide range of health-related fields in those communities served by Mayo Health System – Red Cedar may apply for grants from the Community Health Fund.
According to the Foundation’s Executive Director, Linda McIntyre, the grants are intended to fulfill civic, humanitarian, cultural, health, recreational, aesthetic, environmental, and educational needs.
“Each grant cycle provides the Foundation with the opportunity to support organizations that make a difference in the communities we serve,” said McIntyre.
In addition to Colfax Health and Rehab, those groups receiving grants in May also included $1,000 to support the “Free 4 All” Menomonie Community Music Series; $1,500 to Literacy Volunteers Chippewa Valley for GED training program; $3,000 to assist Main Street of Menomonie with upgrading downtown Christmas decorations; $5,023 to Stepping Stones of Dunn County for the purchase of handicap accessible doors; and $10,000 to Dunn County Home Health Care for the start-up costs of a hospice program.
