Colfax girls and boys runner up at regional meet

BOYCEVILLE — With the local weather reports predicting a chance of rain throughout the day, it seemed the forecasters were wrong again as the sun came out – and stayed out for the entire Division 3 regional track meet held at Boyceville May 20.

The Colfax boys and girls took advantage of it and placed second in the field of nine teams, both behind Eau Claire Regis. The top eight places scored team points with the top four individuals and relay teams moving on to sectionals with Colfax being well represented as they hosted that meet May 23.

Placing first for the boys were Noah Pretasky in both the 100 m dash (11.69) and 200 m dash (23.84), Garrett Miller in the 400 m run (53.00), and the 4 X 800 relay with Lachlan Hinwood, Matthew Almquist, Michael Larson and Miller (8:36.56).

Heidi Lieffort won the pole vault for the girls at 8-00.
