Members of Russell-Toycen Post 131, American Legion, Colfax, will meet at 8 a.m. May 27 in the Colfax High School parking lot to travel to Sand Creek for that community’s Memorial Day ceremonies.
At 10:30 a.m., there will be a parade from Colfax High School to Evergreen Cemetery for an 11 a.m. program. A trailer will be available for American Legion and Auxiliary members.
The speaker at the cemetery will be Command Sergeant Major Bill Yingst, retired from the U.S. Army Reserve and the current district administrator at the School District of Colfax.
Also participating in the parade will be the bands from Colfax High School, Colfax Middle School, as well as local Boy and Girl Scouts and any other interested organizations.
