Golfers conclude conference season
MONDOVI — After a final round of conference play consisting of 18 holes at The Valley Golf Course in Mondovi May 13, the Colfax golf team shot their best score for the year with a 375 for third place. Overall, the team finished last in the conference standings as Glenwood City took the title.
Dillon Lloyd and Trevor Seston both shot rounds of 87 to tie for fifth place to lead the Vikings while Whitney DeMoe finished at 92, Grant Phillips came in at 109 and Trey Gullickson 110. Hayden Ford of the host team Mondovi won the meet with a score of 78,
Lloyd’s score moved him up in the individual standings from sixth place to fourth, making him First Team All Conference. He finished in the top ten in six of seven conference meets this year, scoring 42 points for the season. Seston earned 15 conference points for the year and DeMoe four. The team will compete in the regional meet Wednesday, May 22 at their very own Whitetail Golf Course.
“Our younger kids are starting to play better,” coach Vince Ross said. “It is nice to have Dillon and Whitney to help lead the team at the regional because they have experienced advancing to sectionals before.”
FINAL CONFERENCE STANDINGS: Glenwood City 38, Mondovi 31, Spring Valley 21, St. Croix Central 19, Colfax 13
