Come one, come all to Woodville’s 62nd Annual Syttende Mai Celebration

WOODVILLE – It’s Woodville’s 62nd Annual Syttende Mia Celebration on Thursday, May 16, Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May18, 2013 so grab the family, and meet all your friends and neighbors in Woodville, Wisconsin for lots of fun, food and live musical entertainment! Be sure and catch the Grande Parade on Saturday, May 18 with over 120 parade units to dazzle and delight everyone and it begins at 12:30 rain or shine.

 All the Woodville Syttende fun starts at 4 p.m. on Family Night, Thursday, May 16 with meat raffles, the Stipes Carnival Show, “World Famous” Lions Hamburgers and more including a Grand Prize Drawing for cash. There will be a Clown performance providing fun for the whole family. The Syttende Mai Court and Contestants will be serving yummy $2.00 Rootbeer Floats for your sweet taste buds. Come relax in the area under the tent with plenty of picnic tables for enjoying “World Famous” burgers, listening to music and participating in on-going meat raffles. Try your luck to win frozen Olson’s Woodville Meats meat packages, with a $400.00 GRAND PRIZE to be drawn at 10:00 p.m. There will be reduced drink prices for adults in the tent and at the American Legion Post 301.

There is a full day of Syttende Mai fun on Friday, May 17 with Village wide Garage Sales full of bargains galore starting at 8 a.m. The Stipes Carnival Show will be offering exciting rides and games of skill and chance. At 4 p.m. the Lions will begin serving their mouth-watering grilled chicken along with other food stands to cure the hungriest of appetites.

The Syttende Mai Softball Tournament will begin on Friday and continue on Saturday (it concludes on Sunday), so come and take in some ball while in Woodville for Syttende Mai at Steven’s Park Ball Field.

The Sons of Norway will be serving delicious Norwegian Treats from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Main Street in front of Lena’s Gifts.

The Annual Mystery Car Cruise registration is at 4:30 followed by the fabulous Car Show at 8 p.m. with Classics and Street Rods that will make your eyes pop with all that shiny chrome!

Then get on your dancing shows and head for the great live music of “October Road” at the Lion’s Tent starting 8:30pm and the band playing until 12:30am with NO Cover Charge!

On Saturday, May 18 the fun of Woodville’s 62nd Annual Syttende Mai Celebration continues with a full day of more fun activities, events and entertainment. Start your day right at 8:00 a.m. with the “Uff Da” Trail Run – 5K & 1/2 Marathon. The Stipes Carnival will be open for more rides and games. The Sons of Norway will have a Food Sale – (Inside Lion’s Den) serving scrumptious Norwegian Treats and there will be a Woodcarving demonstration there as well.

The annual Craft Tent will open at 9 a.m. and go to 3 p.m., it will feature a variety wonderful hand crafted items to bring home.

The ever popular children’s Fantasy Corral and Pony rides moves to a new location by the Woodville tennis courts with all the friendly barnyard animals to feed and pet.

Of course one of the big Syttende Mai attractions is the Grade Parade that begins at 12:30 p.m. on Main Street in Woodville with Marching Bands, gorgeous visiting Royalty on dazzling floats.

By sure to keep your strength up and sample all of the wonderful food booths offering everything from brats and grilled chicken to meatball dinner with potatoes and gravy or a Walking Taco.

At 4:30 p.m. you can take in the Norwegian – English Church Service (in the Lion’s Den). As evening begins head to Viking Middle School for the 7 p.m. Syttende Mai Queen’s Coronation, tickets will be sold at the door.

Then finish your Syttende Mai at the big Lion’s Tent and dance the night away to the hot live sounds of “The Great Outdoors,” the music starts at 8: 30 p.m. and continues until 12:30am with NO Cover Charge.
