Colfax students receive Vocal Music Awards from Dunn County Barbershoppers
On April 13, at the 44th Annual Dunn County Barbershop Show titled “Sweet Freedom”s Song”, the Northern Lights Chorus chapter President Gary Thorson presented “Vocal Music Awards” to student Kristen Espesteth from the Prairie Farm High School; and to students Jordan Johnson and Andy Buckley from the Colfax High School. Checks in the amount of $300 were awarded to each of the High Schools to help support their Vocal Music Program.
The Dunn County Chapter makes an award each year of financial-support to the choral program(s) of one or more of the school districts in their area as a step in accomplishing its mission “To be a leader in encouraging vocal music in our local schools and communities.”
Lucky winners of a pair of tickets to next years 45th Annual Barbershop Show were Grace Mertes of Menomonie, LeAnn Mork of Ridgeland, Heidi Peterson of Amery and Christian Hall of Elk Mound. Winners were from a ticket drawing of the fans who attended the show.
