Two arrested in drug raid arrested again for disorderly conduct

COLFAX — Two men who were arrested during a drug raid in Colfax on April 5 were arrested again last week after an altercation involving a pool stick and a knife.

Leo P. Herrera, 57, and Michael A. Smith, 21, were involved in a fight at about 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, said Colfax Police Chief Pete Gehring.

The fight involved a pool stick and a knife, although no one was stabbed during the incident, he said.

The rumors around town are that someone was stabbed, but no one was stabbed, Chief Gehring reiterated.

Herrera and Smith were both arrested for disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping, he said.

A court hearing has not yet been scheduled for Herrera following the April 16 incident.

Smith has been charged with one felony count of bail jumping, one misdemeanor count of bail jumping and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct related to the April 16 incident.

Smith also has been charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and bail jumping related to the April 5 arrest.

Smith is scheduled to appear in court again on June 28.

A cash bond of $100 was set for Smith in the drug case, and a cash bond of $200 was set following the altercation with Herrera.

Jami A. Golden, 33, who was also arrested on drug charges on April 5 is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Dunn County Circuit Court on April 25.

A cash bond in the drug case of $300 was set for Golden.

Court hearings related to the April 5 arrests have not yet been scheduled for Karen Herrera and Leo Herrera. .
