Emily Harrison ends sophomore season in NCAA semi-finals

Elk Mound graduate Emily Harrison, now a sophomore at Michigan Tech, ended her second year of play for the women’s basketball team at the Division II NCAA Midwest Regional tournament March 16.

The Huskies won their first game 79-67 over Kentucky Wesleyan, then dropped the semi-final game to Ashland of Ohio 67-54. Harrison played 11 minutes against Ashland and scored six points on two buckets and 2 of 2 free throws, grabbed two rebounds and had one assist and one blocked shot.

The Huskies finished 21-9 on the season and were 17-5 in the GLIAC. Harrison saw action in 25 games, averaged 8.5 minutes a game and scored 83 points on 39 field goals and 5 of 9 free throws. She led the team in blocks with 31, collected 41 rebounds with nine assists and one steal.
