EM approves booster pump rehab for $10,000

By LeAnn R. Ralph

ELK MOUND —  On a blustery, cold night with blowing snow that seemed more like January than only two days until Spring, the Elk Mound Village Board approved rehabilitating one of the village’s booster pumps.

The motion to approve Water Well Solutions for rehabilitating Pump No. 1 at Well No. 2 at a cost not to exceed $10,000 was approved at the March 18 meeting.

The Water Well Solutions corporate office is located in Oconomowoc.

The company has two branch offices in Illinois.

In April of 2010, the Elk Mound Village Board approved spending $21,500 to repair Well No. 2.

Employee handbook

Although the employee handbook was on the agenda for the Elk Mound Village Board meeting, the employee relations committee met prior to the village board and recommended reviewing the document one more time before considering it for approval.

After the state passed a law in 2011 making it illegal to collectively bargain with public employees, municipalities are required to have an employee handbook to replace what employees could formerly negotiate through collective bargaining.
